To help minimize shipping costs, we try to package as many items as we can in 1 box. Our items are shipped frozen, and depending on the weather and distance to travel, are also packed with insulated foam, dry ice and/or gel packs. All this is done to insure that your product arrives to you in perfect condition. These precautions do add an additional cost, we apologize for that and thank you for your continued patronage. Our current shipping costs are the actual FedEx or UPS charges + $11 for the
cooler, dry ice and packing materials. Joan's does not mark up or
profit in any way from shipping.
Joan's ships all of its orders FROZEN in special insulated containers with dry ice using a trusted national carrier, such as UPS or FedEx.
We currently only ship within the USA.
Joan's ships all packages via UPS or another of the most reputable and reliable delivery services in the United States. All packages are shipped to the customer under 'Signature Release.' This is the process that allows UPS to leave your package at your doorstep without obtaining a signature from you. Once the package has been left at your door, it is your responsibility. If for some reason this does not work for you and you would rather sign for your delivery please feel free to call Joan's and let us know you intend to sign for your delivery. If you choose the 'Signature Required' option, Joan's cannot be responsible for your foods freshness if you are not home at the time of delivery and UPS must deliver your food the next business day.
Joan's products delivered by UPS are perishable and should be FROZEN no later than the night of delivery. Occasionally, due to circumstances beyond Joan's control, UPS may not deliver packages on time and/or packages may get damaged during transit. We make all efforts to securely package our food with sufficient amounts of dry ice in Styrofoam coolers or other insulated packaging. Joan's can only guarantee that packages will be shipped out on time and in excellent condition. Tracking numbers are provided for every shipment we send out. However, we cannot be responsible for the delivery service failures on the part of UPS. In the rare event that UPS fails to deliver a package on time or damages the package during transit, Joan's cannot be held liable. Customers may file a claim of $100 (what the package is insured for) with UPS for a missed delivery. In the event of delivery failures due to weather conditions, no claims may be made, either to Joan's or UPS. Similarly, any claim for a lost, stolen, missing, and/or damaged shipment is against UPS and is NOT the responsibility of Joan's, its officers, members, or employees.
